Layout Changes

A design for the covering the gap between the layout and the wall has been approved by the club Board of directors.  This design will be a scenery extension on a hardboard shelf extending from the layout over the edge of the wall.  This replaces the foam that was going to be placed between the layout and the wall.  By being two inches away from the wall we minimize shock to the layout when some one bounces against the outside of the wall.

A new understanding on the wall height means we will not have to lower the height of the the layout.

The scenery work has been deferred until the electrical work is complete.  This may mean the scenery will not be in place for Railfair.

The Board of Directors has agreed on a long range plan for the electrical functional requirements for the new layout.  This plan includes implementing detection and signaling in both DCC and DC power modes.  This plan will be presented to the members for approval.
